Keywords are critical for customers to narrow down their searches, online and offsite, so they are an important element in each card’s meta-tag data.
1. You want to add keywords that are descriptive to the image: theme, colors, elements (animal and breeds, flower types, etc.)
2. At GCU you do want to add the occasion and recipient (if there is one: mom, brother, friend, all of us, etc.)
3. NEVER add occasions or recipients that the card IS NOT specifically for. Only use keywords that apply to the card you are creating. Including a list of relationships, occasions, expressions or identifiers that are not specific to this general card are considered spamming, are misleading and will produce incorrect search results for shoppers.
4. Separate keywords by a comma followed by a space.
5. Don’t use sentences, but you can use phrases: thoughts of you, graduating high school, etc., mother’s day cards for mom
6. Don’t add the card title, category name, artist name, store name or any combination of the words “paper greeting cards” as keywords.
