Here’s some great tips on Inside Verse configuration:
1. DO NOT use the following verse fonts in sizes smaller than:
Edwardian - 20, Bernhard Fashion bt - 16, Bible Script - 16, Curlz -16, Freehand591 -16, Snell - 16, Times New Roman - 12
2. Sans Serif and Serif fonts are best between 14 and 16
3. When possible please choose a font color for the inside verse which blends with the card front. IF no color matches well, choose black.
4. IF the links of verse are touching, crowded or overlapping, please increase vertical line spacing to 1.5.
5. DO use well-thought-out line break(s) that occur at logical and balanced points in the verse and the text does not simply wrap around to the next line.
See the blog for details and examples:
6. DO NOT use Top or Bottom Vertical Alignment for standard verse cards. Top may be used for Invitations and Announcements.
7. DO NOT use Left or Right Message Alignment for standard verse cards. If you have an exception, please explain in your Notes to Reviewer prior to submitting.
8. Please use proper punctuation in the verse area.
9. Please REMOVE the salutation/valediction in the verse area, as this is something customers add as their own personal addition depending on their unique connection to the recipient.
NOTE: GCU is an any and all occasion, professional greeting card site where the imagery, card front text and inside verse blend to create the perfect sentiment. Though we have blank cards on the site, we are extremely picky about those we keep and about those we choose to add considering blank greetings at GCU are not printed on fine art archival paper. Please create cards which are occasion specific.
Please review your verse to make sure the alignment, line breaks, and spacing are ideal as these elements differ font to font.
